A Celebration of Caribbean Culture Infused with Modern and Contemporary genres of music
Fusion, is an event created by Angela Pierre and Norman Anthony Smith to showcase contemporary solo violinist, Andre Donawa from Trinidad and Tobago in the City of Toronto. This event, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Trinidad & Tobago is a celebration of Caribbean culture infused with a modern twist using the classical instrument, the violin.
The goal for this event is to illuminate the Canadian culture through a unique musical experience that will tantalize the soul and transcend the audience with an elevated level of rhythmic notes.
Toronto has a rich Caribbean culture and this event seeks to share in the language of music by exposing the sweet sounds of Trinidad and Tobago’s sounds mixed with a modern feel.

The Annual rock the Block Event
In an ever changing world it's important to have a strong sense of self and community. Here is an example of one of our community building initiatives. A chance for the community to come together, meet neighbours and have a good time on a summer afternoon.
‘Rock the Block’ is an event that showcases the talent within the community and brings interaction amongst neighbours through music, food, games, activities and art.
‘Rock the Block’, which is currently in its 4th year started off in 2015 as a small art walk event in a local Ajax parkette with just shy of one hundred guest attendees. Last year we had over 300 guest (and it rained). Last year was the first year at Ajax Downs and it looks like we'll be returning. This year we're hoping to attract an even bigger audience.
It is my passion to organize events that bring together community. My primary goals for Rock the Block are to introduce, support and showcase the wealth of talent and culture via musicians, artisans, culinary artists from the Durham Region (Ajax, Pickering, Peterborough, Scugog area); as well as support local businesses and Artisans while creating an interactive family space to foster and strengthen communities.
Over the last three years I’ve been able to achieve that through resident attendees and community partnerships with organizations such as the Town of Ajax with assistance from their Ajax Impact fund, from some of our larger sponsors TD Bank and Ajax Nissan; and, not to mention the support of dozens of local businesses ranging from local plumbers, real estate agents to medical practitioners.
The Taster Series
The Tasters Series is the culmination of great music, palette tantalizing food , and tasty beverages for those who are just looking for a little something more. Oh yeah; and, from time to time we throw in a comedian or two in the mix. Stay tuned!
